"And people turn to internet with the hope that in this virtual world, where real identity need not be disclosed, they will find someone before whom they could be their true self, without any pretensions and get an opportunity to release the pent-up emotions and feel light." Chitralekha PaulDelayed Monsoon (via creatingaquietmind)

"There is no one torturing you except yourself. There is nobody except yourself; your whole life is your work—your creation. Once you grasp this, things start changing…transforming. You can play at changing your hell into heaven, or, if you are in love with misery, create as much as you wish." Osho (via lesfantomes)

"Women need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away." (via lifeasadaydream)

"As if to build a fence around the fatal emptiness inside her, she had to create a sunny person that she became. But if you peeled away the ornamental egos that she had built, there was only an abyss of nothingness and the intense thirst that came with it. Though she tried to forget it, the nothingness would visit her periodically - on a lonely rainy afternoon, or at dawn when she woke up from a nightmare. What she needed at such times was to be held by someone, anyone." Haruki Murakami, 1Q84 (via creatingaquietmind)

"Just because the road ahead is long, is no reason to slow down. Just because there is much work to be done, is no reason to get discouraged. It is a reason to get started, to grow, to find new ways, to reach within yourself and discover strength, commitment, determination, discipline. The road ahead is long and difficult, and filled with opportunity at every turn. Start what needs starting. Finish what needs finishing. Get on the road. Stay on the road. Get on with the work. Right now you’re at the beginning of the journey. What a great place to be! Just imagine all the things you’ll learn, all the people you’ll meet, all the experiences you’ll have. Be thankful that the road is long and challenging, because that is where you’ll find the best that life has to offer." Ralph Marston (via creatingaquietmind)

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only what you are expecting to give — which is everything. What you will receive in return varies. But it really has no connection with what you give. You give because you love and cannot help giving." Katharine Hepburn (via kari-shma)

I think what I’m going through right now is growing up. I am leaving all those people whom I called ‘friends’ before, I spend more time thinking about my future rather than being torned up because of my past and I could eat lunch or any snack alone now. And they all don’t bother me. I’m not sad about it, nor regretting all of it and my decisions. It’s alright for me. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, I just don’t care about it. All I care about right now is my life and the lives of those people that I kept. I care about my future and I care about reality. I don’t care if I’d fail on my subjects, I’m dropping off college soon. I found out that there’s really more to life than your so-called friends, classrooms, universities and partying. I learned that those are the things that prepares you and at the same time, keeping you from reality. Reality is life itself. Life outside the classrooms and the bar you hang in every weekend. Life outside the doors of your own house. There’s a big, wonderful and cruel world out there. And you won’t need those things when you were out there already, trust me. I’m not saying they didn’t helped, because they did. But you won’t need them all. Because in the end, the people who loves and cares about you dearly are the only ones you will find yourself running into when reality bites you. And that’s what’s most important of all. So yeah, I’m growing up and I embrace it whole-heartedly. Welcome reality… I’m excited for you.

"When I was with him, I didn’t have to be perfect, or even try for perfect. He already knew my secrets, the things I’d kept hidden from everyone else, so I could just be myself. Which shouldn’t have been that big a deal. But it was." Sarah Dessen, The Truth About Forever (via creatingaquietmind)

"I’m not fascinated by people who smile all the time. What I find interesting is the way people look when they are lost in thought, when their face becomes angry or serious, when they bite their lip, the way they glance, the way they look down when they walk, when they are alone and smoking a cigarette, when they smirk, the way they half smile, the way they try and hold back tears, the way when their face says they want to say something but can’t, the way they look at someone they want or love… I love the way people look when they do these things. It’s… beautiful." Unknown (via aquaticuss)

Nothings is done entirely for nothing. Nothing is wasted. You are older, and you have made decisions, and you are not the person you were yesterday. Take what you have learned and move on.

"I wake up, but where? I don’t just think this, I actually voice the question to myself: “Where am I?” As if I didn’t know: I’m here. In my life. A feature of the world that is my existence. Not that I particularly recall ever having approved these matters, this condition, this state of affairs in which I feature." Dance Dance Dance, Haruki Murakami (via lightedtunnels)
